Per il terzo anno la realtà di “Via Genova” rinnova la collaborazione con il contemporanea festival, aprendo i propri spazi nel giorno Venerdi 11 Ottobre. All’interno del programma si svolgeranno performance, video, installazioni, musica e mostre.

 

 

Dalle ore 19.00 aperitivo-cena e drinks a cura di CORTE VIA GENOVA.
La programmazione artistica, avrà inizio dalle ore 18.30 con la mostra presso VAULT.
“A guardare il cielo si diventa cielo” personale di Paola Angelini.
Alle 19.00 sarà visitabile la mostra personale di Lorenzo Banci dal titolo “Scene!” presso lo spazio MAGAZZINO 1b.
Alle ore 19.00 EX GUARDUCCI con L’istallazione di Chiara Bettazzi “Collection 2011>2013” , Daniela De Lorenzo “D’altro canto“ video, Lek M. Gjeloshi “Kreuz-ung der vögel” site- specific.
All’interno dell’Ex Guarducci/GARDEN : Francesco Secci “Human connections : piece#1, piece#2, piece#3”
Dalle ore 20.00, fino a tarda notte, nella CORTE DI VIA GENOVA verrà proiettata una rassegna video “Azione/Interazione” con video d’artista, e video documentativi di performance di: Rachel Morellet “Wedding performance”, Zoè Gruni “Metacorpo”, Cristiana Palandri “Near earth”, Alexandre Gérard “Autoportraits au film d’angoisse” e “Marche en trompe l’oeil”, Raffaele Di Vaia “La caccia”, Jeremy Laffon “ Bilan de compétences”, Paolo Meoni “Untitled”, Sung-A Yoon “The Pianist”, Jacopo Jenna e Ramona Caia “Camera coreografica”, Kinkaleri “Un urlo nel lago”.
La CORTE DI VIA GENOVA ospiterà l’installazione di Ronaldo Fiesoli “Asylia” e alle ore 21.00 l’installazione e performance di Lorenzo Cianchi “Wallness-P.S” con Simona Rossi e Alessandra Piombini.
Seguirà l’apertura dalle ore 22,00 di INTERNO 8 che proporrà l’installazione e performance ”Babele” di Franco Menicagli e Norticanta.
SC17 e NUB PROJECT SPACE propongono alle ore 23.00 performance live di Rinus Van Alebeek .

Tutti gli eventi si svolgeranno fino a tarda notte, saranno ad ingresso libero e potranno subire dei lievi ritardi.

For the third year “Via Genova” renovates its collaboration with the Contemporanea Festival, opening its spaces on October 11, 2013. The program includes performances, videos, installations, music and exhibitions.

The programming will start at 18.30: Spazio VAULT inaugurate the personal exhibition of Paola Angelini "A guardare il cielo si diventa cielo".
At 19.00: personal exhibition of Lorenzo Banci, titled "Scene!", at MAGAZINO 1b.
At 19.00 EX GUARDUCCI present the installation of Chiara Bettazzi "Collection 2011> 2013", the video installation of Daniela De Lorenzo "D'altro canto” and the site specific of Lek M. Gjeloshi "kreuz-ung der vögel".

From 20.00 until late at night, in VIA GENOVA’s court, a video review called "Action/ interaction" will present some artist’s videos and documentative videos of performance, by: Rachel Morellet "Wedding performance", Zoè Gruni “Metacorpo”, Cristiana Palandri “Near Earth”, Alexandre Gérard “Autoportraits au film d’angoisse” e “Marche en trompe l’oeil”, Raffaele Di Vaia “La caccia”, Jeremy Laffon “ Bilan de compétences”, Paolo Meoni “Untitled”, Sung-A Yoon “The pianist”, Jacopo Jenna e Ramona Caia “Camera Coreografica”, Kinkaleri “Un urlo nel lago”.

La tela diviene uno spazio in cui procedendo per stratificazioni d’immagini, si rendono evidenti le falle e le possibilità di ricerca, ogni nuovo dipinto rimane aperto per il successivo.
“A guardare il cielo si diventa cielo” è l’accumulo di immagini e di studi che mirano ad esternare una ricerca sul linguaggio. l’artista espone infatti un processo senza conclusione alcuna; la sostanza e la materia della pittura e la sua irriducibilità ad un’unica chiave di lettura.

 

The canvas becomes a space in which proceeding with image stratifications, the gaps and possibility of research becomes evident, every new painting remains open for the next one.

"Looking at the sky we become sky" is an accumulation of images and studies that seek to externalize a research on language. The artist exhibits in fact a process without any conclusion, the substance and matter of the painting and its irreducibility to a single interpretation.

Il site-specific, frammentato nello spazio, è composto da elementi che a loro volta sono misure o segnali di attacco verso qualcosa; i dissuasori per volatili: strutture che vanno, per natura funzionale, a favore della dissuasione e della dispersione, sospendendo così presenza e con-tatto. 

The site-specific, fragmented in space, is composed of elements which are measures or signs of attack towards something; deterrents for birds: structures that goes, with functional nature, in favor of deterrence and dispersion, suspending then presence and touch.

D’altro canto è una visione.
Le inquadrature si susseguono in una lenta dissolvenza, mantenendo a volte tracce di un precedente fotogramma su quello successivo, provocando così una falsa metamorfosi esfigurando il volto.  L’immagine fissa trema e l’immagine in movimento si sospende, lo sguardo si mostra spossessato nel va e vieni di una coincidenza impossibile.

 

D’altro canto is a vision.
The shots follow each other in a slow fade, sometimes keeping track of the previous frame on the next, thus causing a false metamorphosis, disfiguring the face. The fixed image trembles and the moving image is suspended, the gaze is dispossessed in the comings and goings of an impossible coincidence.

La serie di stampe fotografiche che danno vita a « Collection » e che diviene qui opera autonoma, nasce come studio preparatorio del video « Medical ». L’installazione mostra un corpus di immagini d’archivio, scattate intorno alla ricerca di oggettistica medica collezionata in  studio.

The serie of photographic prints that give life to « Collection » and becomes here an autonomous work , started as a preparatory study for the « Medical » video. The installation shows a corpus of archival images, taken during the research of medical objects collected in studio.

Un lavoro fotografico in bianco e nero, che riflette sulle potenzialità della performance come soggetto. Qui l'obbiettivo diviene occhio analitico ed esalta l'azione erigendo il corpo a oggetto metamorfico. La fotografia diviene così traccia di un vissuto artistico che ha come intento principale l'interazione tra l'io e l'altro, tra l'io e il mondo.

A black and white photographic work that is based on the potential of the performance as a subject. Here, the lens becomes an analytical eye and enhances the action in erecting the body to a metamorphic object. The picture becomes a trace of an artistic living which has its main purpose in the interaction between oneself and the other, between oneself and the world.

Una danzatrice e una videocamera. Il corpo spezza la stasi aprendosi nello
spazio in diversi round. Lo sguardo sta, in equilibrio precario: il corpo è
fermo, lo sguardo è fermo – il movimento si dispiega, lo sguardo si rompe e
precipita. Il corpo obbedisce a una dialettica disorganica tra attrito e
cesure, con un senso pneumatico della durata.

A dancer and a video camera. The stillness is broken by the movements of the body opening itself into the surrounding space in several rounds. The gaze is in a precarious balance: the body is still, the gaze is stopped - the movement unfolds, the gaze breaks and precipitates. The body obeys to a non organic dialectic between friction and ruptures, with a sense of durability.

Metacorpo è un rito silenzioso, una riflessione sull'identità, la memoria, la paura.
La parola metacorpo allude ad un andare oltre il corpo, oltre l'intero e la riconoscibilità della figura, oltre le coordinate spaziali consuete e la legge gravitazionale.

Metacorpo is a silent rite, a reflection on identity, on memory, on fear.
The word metacorpo alludes to the meaning of going beyond the body, beyond the whole and the recognition of the figure, beyond the usual spatial coordinations and the law of gravity.

In "Near earth", ho cercato di indagare le possibilità di trasformare una scultura in un vero e proprio environment, grazie ad un'azione che si é sviluppata con la sottrazione della sua stessa visibilità.

In Near earth, I tried to investigate the possibility of transforming a sculpture into an authentic environment, thanks to an action that was developed with the removal of its own visibility.

L'inquadratura  mostra un adolescente stagliato contro il cielo che produce un azione spettrale scandita da movimenti apparentemente senza scopo ma che producono una tensione simile alla danza di un burattino. Il video, sebbene testimoni un accadimento  reale conosciuto da tutti, mostra, attraverso una nuova prospettiva, quello che c'è d'insolito fra le pieghe del reale.

The shot shows a teenage boy silhouetted against the sky that produces a spooky action punctuated by seemingly aimless movements but wich produce a tension similar to a puppet dance. The video, even if its reveals a real event known by all, shows, through a new perspective, what is unusual among the folds of reality.

 

KINKALERI
Un urlo nel lago 
Nyon, Svizzera, Agosto 2005

Un urlo nel Lago è il documento di una installazione sonora realizzata da Kinkaleri in Svizzera a Nyon, ridente cittadina affacciata direttamente sul lago di Lemann.
Precedentemente furono raccolti urli dagli abitanti e dai turisti della città; e successivamente nei giorni a seguire, questi furono editati e diffusi dalle finestre del castello sul lago. In un attimo svelarono le incrinature nevrotiche di un paese che nel dichiararsi pacifista, celava solo apparentemente le sue contraddizioni.

"A scream in the lake" is the document of a sound installation created by Kinkaleri in Switzerland, at Nyon, a small town overlooking the lake of Lemann.
In the previous days, were collected screams of residents and tourists inside the city ; which were edited and disseminated in the following days from the windows of the castle in front of the lake : in a moment they unveiled the neurotic cracks of a village that in declaring peace lies only apparently its contradictions.

In questo video, ho filmato me stesso mentre guardavo  tre film asiatici horror  per poter  generare  più volte spontaneamente un sussulto di spavento, al quale sono naturalmente predisposto.  I filmati in cui mi si vede sussultare sono stati montati in sequenza, e  ogni sussulto viene accompagnato dal suono del film corrispondente. 

In this video, I filmed myself looking three very scary asian movies, to generate several times the fright jump, which I am naturally inclined enough. Then I placed end-to-end all the sequences where you see me jumping, each jump is accompanied by the sound of the corresponding movie.

Come se fosse il culmine di un insegnamento rigoroso, il video presentato « Bilancio di competenze » è una dimostrazione progressiva delle capacità dell'artista di domare il "grave", di essere "padrone di gravità."

Like a culmination of a rigourous training, the video entitled Skills Assessment is a progressive demonstration of the artist's capabilities to manage the "grave", to be "master of gravity."

SUNG-A YOON
The pianist, 2011

Una pianista, vestita con un abito da sera, suona il pianoforte nella hall di un albergo a cinque stelle nella città di Seoul. Nonostante lei sia illuminata come se fosse su un palcoscenico, nessuno sembra prestarle attenzione: la pianista sembra incredibilmente sola in mezzo a un andirivieni di persone.

A pianist, dressed in an evening gown, plays the piano in the lobby of a five-star hotel in Seoul. Although she’s lighted as if she were on a stage, nobody seems to be paying attention : the pianist seems incredibly alone in the midst of comings and goings.

The performance focuses on the concept of couple as a place where relationships can find their best way to blow up. A couple of young married are wearing typical wedding clothes, but which were manufactured with Aplix® material(alias velcro). They celebrate their union in the middle of spectators...

Giusto o non giusto, le frasi di circostanza servono ad affrontare la realtà e ci permettono una via di uscita comoda anche se non sempre troppo elegante. Apparteniamo più del dovuto a quello che ci circonda, per questo sfuggire è un'azione necessaria sulla quale allenarsi. Non è un gioco a ribasso, neanche una roulette è il semplice e sano gusto di negarsi alla vista.

Fair or not fair, the circumstance sentences serve to face reality and allow us a confortable but even not always elegant way out. We belong to what surrounds us more that we should, that’s why to escape is a necessary action on which to train. It is not a discount game, not even a roulette it is a simple and healthy choise to stay hidden.

FRANCO MENICAGLI e NORTICANTA
Babele, 2013  
Il lavoro, ispirato da “La biblioteca di Babele”, di Jorge Luis Borges e accompagnata dal sonoro live dei Norticanta, si svolge in un percorso di decostruzione e ricostruzione, in un ciclo eterno mai finito e definito, un eterno ritorno di certezze o al contrario di dubbi e sospensioni. Performance realizzata con la collaborazione della Galleria Die Mauer di Prato.

The work, inspired by "The Library of Babel" by Jorge Luis Borges and accompanied by the live sound of Norticanta, takes place in a process of deconstruction and reconstruction, in an eternal cycle never finished and defined, an eternal return of sureness or doubts and suspensions. Performance realized in collaboration of Die Mauer Gallery of Prato.

Per il mio live uso cassette con varie mie registrazioni, alcune rare cassette di musica californiana degli anni tra il '70 e il '90 e un paio di cassette commerciali: il tutto diventa una cattedrale del suono, un inno per disgraziati, una poesia post-radiofonica che può servire anche come un requiem per la radio stessa...

For my live performances I use tapes containing various recordings I made. Some rare tapes of Californian music from the 70’s and 90’s, a couple of commercial tapes, and the whole thing becomes a cathedral of sound, an anthem for the unfortunates, a post –radiophonic poem that serves as a requiem for the latter ...

Un intervento nel quale l'analisi lascia spazio alla libera riflessione e si concentra sul concetto di vaporizzazione dell'arte, dove solo gli estremi possono esistere, nel tentativo di turbare le forme sociali.

The text wonders on the importance of experience and his artistic translation. An intervention in which the analysis leaves space for free thinking and focuses on the concept of vaporization of art, where only the extremes can exist in an attempt to disturb the social forms.
